Here is a page from a recent white paper compiled by Frank N. Magid and sponsored by Metacafe (a top video site).  Among the other things said in the paper the big elements for me were that 43% of all internet users watched video online each week, a trend to like short form online video as much as long form television and that over 40% of the persons who are watching TV are also simultaneously online.
